An Overview
Foreign nationals interested in studying in Canada who are married and/or have dependent children may wish to bring these family members with them to Canada during their study program. Canadian visa officers will consider study permit applications that include accompanying family members, but including family members on a study permit application may influence the visa officer’s decision.
Canadian study permits are short-lived homeowner permits, indicating that the holder of a study authorization must satisfy the visa officer that they will leave Canada when their license expires. In some cases, if a trainee demands to bring their entire family with them to Canada, the visa officer might think that the student does not truly have the intent to leave Canada after their study program. This can affect the visa officer’s choice on whether to provide the research study authorization.
All study license candidates are asked to submit a declaration discussing why they want to pursue education in Canada. The candidate might use this area of the application to explain why they want to have their spouse and/or kids accompany them to Canada. The final decision on research study allow approval is at the discretion of the immigration officer. Please note that it is possible for a person to request a study authorization without their family members, however to later send an amended application requesting authorization for relative to join them in Canada.
Applying to change an application in this way can result in misrepresentation, including a 5 year ban from Canada, if the applicant does not follow the appropriate treatments. Candidates should show adequate funds to support themselves during their first year of study. Those who long for their member of the family to accompany must be prepared to demonstrate extra funds to support their household. They must be mindful of how this will impact their housing and health insurance coverage requires if a worldwide student is accompanied by their partner and/or reliant kids.
Bringing Your Spouse

This work authorization will authorize the partner to work full-time for any company in Canada for the same period as their partner’s study authorization. They each must use for different study permits if both partners are interested in pursuing studies in Canada.
Bringing Your Dependent Children
